3rd Annual Five College Queer Gender & Sexuality Conference

We are so excited to announce open registration for the 3rd Annual Five College
Queer Gender & Sexuality Conference at Hampshire College on Saturday, March 31.
Registration opens at 9 am in Franklin Patterson Hall.  Join us for a daylong
series of workshops, panels, and more addressing issues and intersections of
culture, identity, art, spirituality, and relationships.  This year’s
conference will feature a keynote speech by Rev. Irene Monroe and a closing
ceremony by poet Qwo-Li Driskill.  Workshops include: Intro to Queer Poetry,
Intersex 101, Performing the Queer Revolution, Navigating Polyamory, BDSM 101:
Whip Yourself Into Shape, Ace and Grace Space, and many more! We hope to see

Rev. Irene Monroe lives in Cambridge, is a Huffington Post blogger, and a
syndicated religion columnist. A native of Brooklyn, Monroe is a graduate from
Wellesley College and Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University.  She
served as a pastor at an African-American church before coming to Harvard
Divinity School for her doctorate as Ford Fellow.  Her columns appear in 43
newspapers throughout the United States and UK.  She describes her writing as
“an interdisciplinary approach drawing on critical race theory, African
American , queer and religious studies.”

Qwo-Li Driskill is a Cherokee Two-Spirit/Queer writer, scholar, educator,
activist, and performer also of African, Irish, Lenape, Lumbee, and Osage
ascent.  S/he is a published poet and artist with a PhD from Michigan State
University.
