Hello All,

I'm forwarding this message on about covid testing every Tuesday. I hope you are all getting tested each week, and you should know that Rachel, Olivia, Sam, and I all get tested each Tuesday as well. If you skipped over this email earlier, do go back and read it as there is new and important information in it. Please note that students who skip testing may face disciplinary action and may not be eligible to work on campus this semester.

Thank you,

Suzanne

Hello folks,

Your next testing day is tomorrow (Tuesday, February 23). The testing site in the RCC gymnasium is open from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 - 3 p.m. Please an appointment ahead of time in CoVerified* to minimize wait times for everyone. We have a few extra bits of important information to communicate in this reminder email:

Please blow your nose before you come to the testing site. Excess mucus on the swab can cause a test to not be processed because the sample is too viscous to be analyzed, and we would like to lower the likelihood of that happening.

Students: if you cannot make a scheduled testing date for some reason, please contact c19testing@hampshire.edu or deanofstudents@hampshire.edu to communicate that in advance.

We have noticed a higher number of students not complying with the COVID testing requirement over the past two weeks. While understandably, there may have been some confusion last week due to inclement weather, the number of students not participating in the testing program is cause for concern as we try to keep Hampshire as safe as possible for all students, staff, and faculty. Should this trend persist, then additional prevention and community safety methods will be considered, including referral for disciplinary actions under the Student Conduct Code. Steps could include requiring all students missing tests to re-enter Phase One of Hampshire’s Phased Reopening Plan. This would limit a student's participation in on-campus activities including instruction, community programming, and ability to work on-campus jobs.

As always, do not come to the testing site if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. and don't forget to sign the testing consent form for employees or students if you haven't done so before. If your contact information or address has changed since last semester, please let the person checking you in know so we can update it. And finally, remember that receiving a COVID-19 vaccine does not exempt you from testing and other COVID-19 prevention measures such as wearing a face covering that securely covers your mouth and nose (no gaps!), physically distancing, and other hygiene practices.
