Hi everyone!

Starting this week, we’re going to have you shelf reading up in the
stacks. This will entail making sure that sections of the stacks are
tidy and in call number order as well as correcting any issues you may find.

You can find a full explanation of the procedures involved on the
InfoBar LibGuide
<https://resourceguides.hampshire.edu/c.php?g=759642&p=5447838>.
Suzanne, Olivia, or I will train you on shelf reading before your first
shift doing it, but I ask that you read the procedures beforehand to
familiarize yourself with it.

Progress will be tracked via a Google Sheet
<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BUQZZaeD8o3wO_B55A4kK7ndY6wXYU8VxDj9S-bHyuM/edit?usp=sharing>where
you’ll record at what call number you started and ended shelf reading,
along with other information about the shift.

This project is crucial to ensuring our stacks are in a state where the
collection can be accessed and used to its full potential. It’s very
important that this work is done correctly, so Olivia and I will be
spot-checking your work as you go.

As always, we’re here to answer any questions you may have, so please
don’t hesitate!

Best,
Sam
