[Circulation] Reserve Books / Pulling Books for Holds / Paychecks & Direct Deposit

Hi All, 

Here are some reminders and observations from the past 24 hours: 

1.  RESERVE BOOKS
Today I found a reserve book, identified with yellow reserve tape, on
the HQ-PZ cart. Please be careful to reshelve reserve books with the
yellow tape on the reserve shelves. Items with green Open Reserve tape
belong on the shelves to the left of the InfoBar in order by class.
Reserve items with orange Personal tape belong on the reserve shelves,
but on their own shelf and placed in order by title. 

2. Pulling Holds
Yesterday we received 3 items that we sent out in 5C delivery that were
the wrong items or the wrong editions. The requesting institutions sent
them back to us and we had to pull the correct ones , which delayed the
patrons' requests by a day or two. When pulling holds, make sure the
call number matches EXACTLY. If the year is wrong then the item is a
different edition and it will not satisfy the patron's hold. The
double-check to make sure you have the right item happens when you scan
the items you've pulled. If you don't get prompted in Aleph that the
"Item has been requested at XYZ institution," then you must check and
make sure you've pulled the right item. You cannot send a different
edition or a book with a like title. It is never ok to scan the hold
slip, please do make sure to scan the barcodes of the items you've
pulled to ensure that you have the right items. 

3.  PAYCHECKS AND DIRECT DEPOSIT
I've been recently made aware that students who do not have direct
deposit will have to pick up their paychecks in the Payroll office
(Blair Hall, room 217) as of the October 5 pay date. Checks will no
longer be mailed to your campus mailbox. I've copied in the intranet
announcement mentioning this change below. 

Please do check with me, Sydney, or Tierra if you have any questions
about the content of this email.

_DIRECT DEPOSIT_

	* To keep up with Hampshire's sustainability to illuminate waste & be
more cost efficient we strongly encourage all students to enroll in the
Direct Deposit option. Direct Deposit forms can be found on our Website
www.hampshire.edu/business-office/payroll [1]in the Payroll Office or at
Student Employment. 

 	* Your paycheck will be available to you at midnight, the day before
the pay date.
 	* No going to the bank to cash your check!

	* Starting _OCTOBER 5TH_ you will be required to pick up your pay check
in the Payroll Office. THEY WILL NO LONGER BE DELIVERED TO YOUR
HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE MAIL BOX. 

 	* Make sure you bring your student ID. NO ID NO CHECK.
 	* You can only pick up YOUR check.
 	* Please contact the Payroll Office for accessibility assistance
regarding pick up.

_ENTERING TIME WORKED_

 	* Your deadline to enter your time is every other Sunday by midnight.
If you fail to meet the deadline you risk the chance of not getting
paid. The supervisor cannot approve time that was not entered on your
time card. Instructions & Submission Deadlines can be found on the
Payroll Website
