Hi All,

Some reminders while working at the InfoBar:

-DIV III CONTRACTS: The search for a gallery director is concluding and
while there is no one in the position I am the person collecting the
contracts signed by Div III students who are showing their work in the
gallery this spring. Please give the contracts to me - I'll leave a
folder on the uppermost corner of my desk marked for that purpose. If
students leave contracts when the circulation office is locked you may
leave them on the shared staff desk in front of the hold shelf.

-TABLING IN FRONT OF THE MAGIC BOARD:  Just a reminder that the digital
gallery space facing you as you come up the stairs from the main
entrance is called the Magic Board. Hampshire community members may
reserve space in front of the Magic Board to advertise their group or
mission. Please note that the library staff do not make reservations for
this space, the Event Services offices does. Patrons may call
413-559-5610 or email events at hampshire.edu to book the space. We do,
however, have a 4ft card table that we circulate to patrons who are
tabling in front of the Magic Board. This table is stored behind the
Kael/Seydel return cart, outside of the circulation office. Please do
remember to check the table out to the person who asks for it, and do
check it back in when the table comes back - there is a barcode near the
table's handle.

-NOISE MACHINES NEAR THE KEY BOX:  You may have noticed a brown paper
bag containing 2 noise canceling machines next to the locked key box.
These are to make the conversations in the 2nd floor more private.
Ongoing interviews for the Hampshire Impact Study are scheduled
throughout the academic year, you can learn more about the project here:
https://www.hampshire.edu/dof/hampshire-impact-study. Please know that a
fellow named Christene DeJong is conducting these interviews, and so she
will be picking up the key to the 2nd floor training room and the noise
machines almost daily. Please put the machines back in the cubby next to
the key box when she returns the key. Likewise, we are asked to hold a
white binder for the Transformative Speaking Project. Please put the
binder on the dvd return shelf near the key box when TSP students return
the Bradford Key.

-THE STAPLER: We're really not joking, please do ask patrons to not take
the stapler away from the InfoBar! We've replaced SO MANY staplers this
academic year that we cannot afford to buy any others, please do help us
keep an eye on it.

-RESERVES FOR CLAUDIO NOLASCO'S CLASS: A note from Rhana: I wanted to
make sure you all know what's going on with Claudio Nolasco's reserves
for his course _The Photobook: Form and Practice_ (HACU 244) because
it's a sort of special situation. While open reserves are usually behind
the new book shelf, these books are shelved behind the circ desk next to
the rest of the regular reserves. He wants these books to be browsable
by his students so they are free to come behind the desk and look
through them, but please let them know they are not to be checked out
and should be treated very gently. Please make sure they have the band
or slip with the "open reserve" sticker when these books are returned to
the shelf. Let Rhana know if you have any questions about this (or any
other reserves issues).

-LEAVING NOTES ON THE STAFF DESK:  If you've been helping a patron and
have to leave a follow-up note to staff for additional help, please do
sign your name so that we know who to follow up with! I can sometimes
tell by the handwriting, but it is super helpful to know who wrote the
note in case I have more questions about the transaction.

Thanks, and please do ask if you have any questions about this email or
anything else related to your job!
