Hello All,

You may have noticed the announcement in today's digest mentioning that
we are circulating Kill a Watt Meters here at the library. Here is the
description of what the meter is and does:

"A Kill-A-Watt meter measures the electricity used by electronic devices
& appliances when they are plugged in. Plug the meter into an outlet and
the appliance into the meter, then use the appliance as usual.
Electricity used will be measured by the meter. The display will show
consumption by Kilowatt-hour, with the option to see voltage, current
and other information. Use the Kill-a-Watt meter at your home to find
out how much money your appliances are costing you."

PROCEDURES FOR LOANING METERS:

These Kill a Watt meters are being kept in the locked wood cabinet on
the right side of the InfoBar. This cabinet is kept locked. If a patron
wishes to borrow or return a meter get the key on the green coil
keychain (marked headphone cabinet) from the locked key box to unlock
the cabinet. When patrons borrow a meter please give them an instruction
sheet, these are kept in the cabinet with the meters. Meters check out
for 3 days at a time and are renewable. You will see a circulation note
each time a meter is checked out and returned. The note is just a
reminder to make sure both the meter and plug get returned. Please lock
the cabinet after you have loaned or returned a meter. You may direct
any questions about the meters to our Interdisciplinary Science
librarian, Heather McCann.

Thank you, and please ask if you have questions about this email.
