Hello All,

The circulation desk is the library's main service point and your
actions influence patrons' perceptions of the library. What I ask,
then, is that you be attentive at the desk. Look up as people pass
through. Smile. Don't be so engrossed in your own work that you look
like you will be interrupted. Your purpose in being at the desk is to
be approachable and helpful. Also, please make personal conversations
with friends at the desk brief. Visits from friends should never
interfere with your serving the patrons who are waiting in line behind
them.

Lastly, please do not eat full meals at the front counter of the circ
desk. If you are working through a meal time please eat quickly in
the circulation office if it is open. When it is not, please use the
counter near the back of the circ area and do so discreetly.

Thank you and please ask if you have any questions about this email.
