hello everyone:

due to an old-manesque but still frighteningly painful back injury i sustained,
i will not be able to work today from four to eight.  previously, this wouldn't
have left a gap in the work schedule, but now there may be a gaping one from
4-530, during which time no one will be at the desk unless Rory gets back in
time or someone can take the whole of my shift or hers, cover that hour and a
half duration, or perhaps come in earlier or leave later in order that the desk
be not vacant. this is very last minute, of course, but i for one believe in the
pluck and determination of the circulation staff.

no matter what they say.
