[Circulation] general reminders

Hello Everyone,

Here are reminders about several situations that came up today at the desk:

1. All CDs check out with the status Restricted. This is just how the
librarians chose to code the CD collection, so do not be alarmed, CDs may still
be checked out to all patron types for 2 weeks. You will only be blocked from
checking out CDs to a patron once he or she already has 6 CDs checked out.

2. Reserve items that do not have spine labels with call numbers are from the
Personal collection. Don't forget to shelve these in order by title (ignore
the a, an, and the).

3. Books were returned today with holds on them for the patrons that returned
them. This makes me suspicious that the books were never checked out at all.
Make sure to check out every book that you pull off the hold shelf for a
patron. Also, please take your time in scanning the barcodes of the books.
Make sure each barcode clears before you scan in the next.

4. Please give me the names of patrons whose holds are not on the shelf (but
are supposed to be), along with the titles of the books they were expecting. I
will follow up with the owning libraries in case the books were never sent.

You're all doing a great job so far, keep up the good work!
