[Blacksmithing] Smelting Event, May 3rd-5th

The Hampshire College Blacksmiths' Guild will be hosting a smelting  
event from May 3rd to May 5th, 2013. We will construct a simple  
furnace in the Viking style, and produce a small amount of traditional  
steel from local iron ore.

You are cordially invited to attend this event. In addition to the  
smelting, we will be doing a bit of smithing on the side, making this  
something of a hammer-in. Come enjoy traditional methods and the  
company of other accomplished smiths.

We will be able to provide some safety materials, but if you can,  
please bring your own safety glasses, face shields, and gloves. Heavy  
boots and spats are also recommended, especially if you are hoping to  
work directly with the smelting furnace.

All activities will take place on Hampshire College campus. We hope to  
see you there!
