Hello all,
You are getting this email because you either signed up on our email list during
Hampfest, added yourself via the web interface at lists.hampshire.edu, or the
internet goblins maliciously placed you on it so you can receive spam in the
form of the 1-3 emails I send out per semester. If one of these three things
did not occur, or if you've changed your mind about your interest in the
blacksmithing arts, you can unsubscribe from this list by going to
http://lists.hampshire.edu/mailman/listinfo/blacksmithguild and unsubscribing.
The point of this email, however, is to remind you of a few things:
1.) Open Forge is every Thursday from 9pm-11pm. There will be some more
experienced students on hand more than happy to teach what we know, and free
metal and fire for you to play with. This is an exciting chance to learn what
many consider a "dead" art. Impress your friends! Make(insert holiday
celebration of choice here) presents! Have fun! You get the picture, 9-11pm
every thursday is awesome.
2.) Safety Training is every Thursday from 7pm-8pm. You only need to do this
once, but you need to do it BEFORE coming to an Open Forge session. It is
painless and will cover Lemelson's legal liability, so please attend and then
come blacksmith.
3.) The Hampshire Design Conspiracy kicks off this week - it is from 6pm-7pm and
there is free pizza! It is a meeting where we talk about anything and everything
related to design, fabrication, and Lemelson. Have an idea but not sure how to
implement it? Someone at the meeting can help! We highly suggest attending, and
note how it leads nicely into a night of safety training and blacksmithing. We
planned this, honest.
So, as a summary, here is how your Thursday evening schedule should generally
look:
6-7pm Design Conspiracy
7-8pm Safety Training (unless you've done it before)
9-11pm Blacksmithing!
This gives you from 8-9pm to do homework, and if you've already done safety
training you get a bonus hour of homework time for 7-8!
See you all Thursday.
