Live!<sup>©</sup> is a group of students from the Northwest Deaf Club at <st1:place

w:st="on">Connecticut</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Community
College</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>. These students have developed an
educational but entertaining look at ASL Storytelling – a performance art
of the Deaf Community. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

students demonstrate some of the unique art forms found in ASL
Storytelling: ABC Stories, Number Stories, Deaf Jokes, and Poetry written
and/or performed by Deaf artisans. They also “borrow” and reshape
some art forms from the Hearing Community (music, slapstick comedy), adding
their own particular angle.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

group was formed during the Spring 2006 semester, and made their debut in April
2006 at the Collegiate Education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons 19<sup>th</sup>

<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Connecticut</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Community
College</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>. They have been developing this
production since the Fall 2006 semester to “take on the road” to <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Connecticut</st1:State></st1:place> high schools
as a community service.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
