Leah Hager Cohen: Reading from her work
AMHERST, MA -- Author Leah Hager Cohen will visit Hampshire College on February
28 and read from her work at 7:30 p.m. in the Dakin Living Room, Dakin House.
She will also participate in a question-and-answer session over lunch at noon,
talking about "Failure and Play in Fiction and Nonfiction Writing." Both events
are free and open to the public.
Cohen--a graduate of Hampshire College--is the author of four novels and four
books of nonfiction, including explorations of such disparate topics as the
politics of deafness, the material culture of everyday life, community theater,
boxing, and the nature of aggression. Her reviews regularly appear in the Sunday
Book Review of the "New York Times." "Bookpage" declares that with her latest
novel, "The Grief of Others," Cohen has "secured a place in the lineup of
today's great writers."
"The Grief of Others" was selected as among the best books of 2011 by the "New
York Times", "Washington Post," "San Francisco Chronicle," "Toronto Globe and
Mail" and "Kirkus."
"The New York Times" declared Cohen to be: "One of our foremost chroniclers of
the mundane complexities, nuanced tragedies and unexpected tendernesses of
human connection."
This event is on Tuesday, February 28th, 2012.
It is held at : Dakin Living Room, Daking House
This event starts at 7:30pm.
