Hi everybody,
It's getting close to the time when Student Group funding applications
need to be sent in, and the ASL Collective is in need of some new signers!
If you're interested in doing ASL-related things within the Hampshire
community this spring, like planning events and helping spread awareness
of ASL and other Deaf stuff, perhaps you should think about becoming a
signer! You can use work done with the ASL Collective as community
service for your Division II if you like, and it's a good way to start
to get more involved with the five-college ASL community. The paperwork
and other boring stuff tends to be pretty limited depending on what
happens, so don't let that scare you off. Plus I've been doing this for
a few semesters-- for the ASL Collective and other groups-- so I'll
always be there to help out.
Fabulous ideas for ASL or Deaf culture-related events are welcome but
not necessary. All that's needed is enthusiasm about ASL and your
occasional availability to help plan ASL Collective activities.
Anyone who's interested in becoming a signer should send me an email
(akp04 at hampshire.edu).
Hugs and kisses all around,
Drew
