Occasionally, we are fortunate to bear witness to the end of an era.
For the past few years, certain things have been staples of Asian
Media screenings, but this year sees the last installment of one of
our favorite running gags. Not long ago, the man who pioneered the
new genre "AMV Hells" released what is now his final AMV Hell
compilation: "AMV Hell 3: The Motion Picture II: AMV Hell 4: The Last
One".

It is in his honor that we bring you a marathon of his work. Tomorrow
night, Asian Media starts half an hour early (that's 7:30 for those
who are wondering), and if you come earlier we will be showing normal
AMVs before then. Tomorrow night, we will be showing AMV Hell, AMV
Hell 2: Son of AMV Hell, AMV Hell 3: The Motion Picture AND AMV Hell
3: The Motion Picture II: AMV Hell 4: The Last One. TWO AND A HALF
HOURS of AMV Hells! No, we won't be showing AMV Hell: Championship
Edition, or AMV Hell 3.14 or the one that doesn't exist because after
all that hell, we'll be continuing with our running series, Hana Kimi!

On the subject of the hells: It's perfectly alright if you can't
stomach a full 2.5 hours of the hells. We aren't expecting you to be
able to sit through all of it. Feel free to take a break or two if
you need it.

Hope to see you there!

Tristan "And the work that will become a genre itself will be called
AMV Hell" Athearn-Hess
