Urgent! Call your Senator ASAP! Please share widely!

Last night the state Senate released a dramatically
harmful version of our safe staffing bill that is actually worse than the current
situation we now face. The bill, Senate bill 2805, continues to place
hospital administrators in charge of setting their own staffing levels, with
provisions that actually undermine existing collective bargaining rights and
protections many nurses have fought for regarding staffing and mandatory
overtime. A vote on this bill is scheduled for tomorrow.

We are outraged at the Senate’s action and we
urge you to call your senator today to voice your opposition
to the Senate’s action and to demand that they support legislation that
includes an enforceable limit on nurses’ patient assignments.
