<div>Beyond Beats and Rhymes looks at the social construction of
manhood, sexism and homophobia in mainstream Hip Hop Culture.</div>

<div>This youth-centered evening will also include a short youth
produced piece, "A Dream... Deferred," which explores stereotypes of
people of color in the media and includes interviews and spoken word
elements, created by Video Vanguards' member Kolandu Katwiwa. </div>

<div>An interactive discussion will follow, including community
members, youth, artists and educators as they explore hip hop through
dialogue. </div>
