healthcare are very concerned about the violence and destruction in our world,

local Physicians for Social Responsibility chapter are working to place an
advertisement opposing possible war against <st1:country-region

Union News. We think that it is an important way to urge further Congressional
action to prevent military attack that could impact millions and affect
generations to come.</P>

acts from the White House points to a new war: a “preventive” strike on

w:st="on">Iran</st1:country-region></st1:place>. <o:p></o:p></I></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0.5in"><I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">“All options are on the table,” says the
Bush Administration. Does that include a nuclear <o:p></o:p></I></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">option? Yes, they have refused to rule out
using nuclear weapons. <o:p></o:p></I></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0.5in"><I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Nuclear or not, the fallout from this attack
will be catastrophic. <st1:country-region w:st="on">Iran</st1:country-region> is
three times larger than <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Iraq</st1:place></st1:country-region>. It has vast resources and
intense national pride. It can wreak havoc on oil markets. It can retaliate
against <st1:country-region w:st="on">Israel</st1:country-region> or the
<st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Gulf States</st1:place></st1:State>.
In <st1:country-region w:st="on">Iraq</st1:country-region> and
<st1:country-region w:st="on">Afghanistan</st1:country-region>, 175,000
<st1:country-region w:st="on">U.S.</st1:country-region> soldiers could be the
victims of a surge of anger at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region
w:st="on">America</st1:country-region></st1:place>. <o:p></o:p></I></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0.5in"><I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">But doesn’t <st1:country-region
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Iran</st1:place></st1:country-region> refuse to
talk? That is White House fiction. Two serious offers from the Iranian
leadership have been rejected out of hand by the White House.

style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">No one wants a nuclear-armed
<st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Iran</st1:place></st1:country-region>. The reality is that bombing
<st1:country-region w:st="on">Iran</st1:country-region> will likely strengthen
the hard-liners’ hand and ensure that <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region
w:st="on">Iran</st1:country-region></st1:place> will one day become a nuclear
state. <o:p></o:p></I></P>

style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">The American people want diplomacy, not
another war. Four out of five Americans favor direct talks with
