<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Sites visited on the tour include the Pine Grove where Frederick Douglass, Sojourner Truth, William Lloyd Garrison, Wendell Phillips and others spoke during and after the days of the Northampton Association of Education and Industry; the Nonotuck Silk Dam where Lydia Maria Child and David Lee Child processed sugar beets as an alternative to slave grown sugar cane; the house of David Ruggles, New York City’s most daring Underground Railroad hero who aided over 600 fugitives to freedom including Frederick Douglass; the home of fugitive slaves Basil Dorsey and Thomas H. Jones now on the National Register of Historic Places; the homes of Sojourner Truth, Samuel L. Hill, Frances and Hall Judd, Hiram Wells, James Dunn Atkins and Elisha Hammond all built within the five years following the end of the Northampton Association in 1846.</FONT></P>
