Congress passed the Military Commissions Act which narrowed the definition of
torture, eliminated the fundamental right of appeal to the courts of one's
imprisonment, protected official torturers from prosecution and created Military
Commissions that allow secret evidence and evidence procured by
torture. </SPAN></P>

are now in both houses of Congress to correct the most heinous aspects
