~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Special Messages ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In order to help us be most effective in carrying forward the message and
arguments to win support for the Employee Free Choice Act,
www.employeefreechoice.org features daily news clips on the Employee Free
Choice Act, updated videos, profiles of workers who have been unable to join
a union - and those who join through majority sign-up - and a rotating
banner highlighting the latest on attacks by the opposition, new supporters,
and much more. After the bill is introduced, it will have a running list of
members of Congress who have indicated their support.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

To support the organizing efforts around the country, Northland Poster
Collective has produced a set of Employee Free Choice Act buttons
highlighting different aspects the issue. These can be ordered in any volume
and can be mixed together to achieve volume discounts. Corporate America is
mobilizing to prevent this advance in worker rights from becoming reality.
These items are designed to increase the visibility of the Act and appeal to
the varied constituencies whose support will be vital if we are to prevail.
You can view these buttons at

MEMORANDUM from Arlene Holt Baker, Executive Vice President, AFL-CIO:

Corporations and CEOs will do anything in their power to keep workers from
forming unions and bargaining for a better life. Their front groups are
running a massive $200 million propaganda campaign of lies and distortion
about the Employee Free Choice Act - and we have to counter them with truth.

That's what the Turn Around America Media Fund will enable us to do-to go on
the airwaves and in print and online ads to set the record straight. We
have to raise millions of dollars from the AFL-CIO. We will be combining
our resources with those from unaffiliated unions in a paid media effort
through American Rights at Work.

Please make as generous a contribution as possible to the Turn Around
America Fund by going to www.TAAMediaFund.org or by writing a check made
payable to AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer (memo'd for the Turn Around America
Media Fund). Send checks to my office: Office of the Executive Vice
President, AFL-CIO, 815 16th St. N.W., Washington DC, 20006.
