February, 3rd, 2009 -- 11:30 AM
Meet at MacKimmie Hall in Southwest*

February 3rd 2009 marks ONE YEAR that Jason has been victim of a racist hate
crime and a horrific racist prosecution. As the prosecution continues its
violent attack on Jason's life, we are calling on people throughout the
region to join us for a DAY OF SHAME. This is our time to ensure that 30
more years of Jason's life is not taken away and to take a stand against
institutionalized racism and police misconduct everywhere!
*
** We will be gathering at Mackimmie Dormitory on the UMass campus (the site
of the hate crime against Jason) at 11:30 AM, and then Marching for Justice
for Jason.* There will also be a silent vigil starting at 5:30 PM at the
Malcolm X Cultural Center at UMass.

Your presence is essential to our ability to stop this racist prosecution!

*CAN'T COME??* We have supporters from states all over the country calling
the District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel's office to voice their concerns
and outrage with the mishandling of this case. Visit justiceforjason.org for
details on how to call in. Also make sure to sign our petition at *
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/J4JDismissalofcharges/ *

In the case of inclement weather, the rally will be postponed until the
following week Tuesday Feb. 10. Vigil will proceed as planned. To learn if
rally is postponed please check our website the morning of:
