Directions to UMass Campus Center Auditorium:
The Lincoln Campus Center is in the very center of the UMass campus. The
building is tall and concrete and visible just north of the Pond, all easy
to spot from North Pleasant St in Amherst. Any parking lot is fine to park
in and free after 5 any day and on weekends. The Campus Center garage costs
$1.50/hour, capped at $3 after 5pm.
See the maps & free parking info at http://parking.umass.edu, bottom of
page.
To get to UMass:
>From the north, take 91 south to Exit 25 for Route 116 in South Deerfield.
Then take 116 south to the UMass exit in Amherst.
>From the south and MassPike Exit 4, take 91 north to Exit 19 for Route 9 in
Northampton and go east on Route 9 to Route 116 in Hadley. Take the UMass
exit off 116.
Youll end up on Mass Ave. Take that to the first light, Commonwealth Ave,
and take that to either the parking garage (closest to the Campus Center) or
to any nearby parking lot. Then head toward the tallest buildings you see
at the center of the campus. The tallest one you come to first is the
library and brick, then just north of that is the student union and attached
to it (tall again) is the Campus Center (concrete). The auditorium is in
the basement (down the escalator).
Another option when on Mass Ave is to go straight ahead and park in any lot
on the right after passing tall brick dorms on your right. From these lots
head into campus walking along the big U toward the fine arts center, a
sculptural concrete building at the end of the U. Go past that building
and past the pond after it and you come to the student union and then the
Campus Center. It sounds harder than it is. The map should help a lot.
