           *Article Headline *   Author, educator, and activist, JLOVE is
dedicated to the struggle for human rights, the positive proliferation of
youth and Hip-Hop culture, and theliberation of all peoples bodies, minds,
spirits and communities.  Join us for an intergenerational evening.



Youth Workshop-  6-7 pm

Co-sponsored by Video Vanguards  (YAC)



An interactive workshop designed for releasing voice  This workshop is
appropriate for young people 13-17 years old.    Exploring issues ranging
from race and identity, to politics and power and based on the first three
chapters of That White Girl, her newly released book, this workshop is
designed to explore how  YOU feel. This is a chance to be seen and heard.  Help
create a sacred healing space to deeply share what's in your hearts and on
your minds.  Participants are asked to read a portion for the book in
preparation for this      workshop.

Community Dialogue-7:30-8:30

What does beauty mean to the modern woman?  Join this woman-centered circle
in a    discussion about women's beauty within the realm of Hip Hop; create
a space to grapple with your own beauty.  Open to self-identifying women and
allies, this conversation will focus on the female image in the media, the
perversions and diversions, and the artists who are finding ways to subvert
these stereotypes.

 These events are free and wheelchair accessible.  For more information
