When asked how does race and class intersect for you, how would you reply? What goes through your mind? Do we even know where to begin to talk about it? Do you think one overrides the other? How do these two very distinct yet similar interactions show up in your life?
In this workshop we will explore the impact of race and class on our lives and work to understand the interconnections and interplay of the two. This is a unique opportunity for reflection and dialogue. Interested? Please come join us!
Price: Sliding Scale $5 - 250

Some of our Goals are:
•To learn how to explore the impact of race and class on our lives
•To understand the interconnections and interplay of race and class
•To feel more empowered to take leadership and action on issues of classism and racism
•To build more solidarity across class and race lines
Workshop Facilitators:
Rhonda Soto, Class Action’s Race/Class Intersections Program Coordinator, was born and raised in Harlem, New York. As a single parent on welfare, she moved to a culturally all white suburban area. She continued her education and worked her way towards earning a bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College. Upon completing her bachelors, Rhonda worked with teens in a transitional shelter, then with GED students preparing for college. Most recently she taught middle school where she also chaired their diversity committee.
Jennifer Ladd is co-founder of Class Action. She is white, grew up in academic Cambridge Mass, inherited wealth at age 21, and then founded The People’s Resource of Southwest Ohio with an activist board. Since then she has been involved with social change philanthropic/activist organizations and is in the process of giving half her assets away. In addition to her work with wealth and class, she is an educator who has worked with grade levels from preschool to graduate school teaching social studies, global education, anti-bias education, and intercultural communication. Her doctoral research was:Multicultural Education in a Predominantly White Rural Public Elementary School.
