Dear Sisters & Brothers,

Thank you for working for social change!

We are writing to ask for your financial support of your Western
Massachusetts chapter of Jobs with Justice <http://www.jwj.org/> . Founded
in 1987, Jobs with Justice’s mission is to improve working people’s standard
of living, fight for job security, and protect workers’ right to organize.
We believe workers’ rights are human rights and to be successful, we have to
be part of the larger campaign for economic and social justice.

We believe that social change comes from below. The promise of the recent
election can only be made good by people organizing at the grassroots,
coming together to demand justice from those in power.

With your generous financial help, WMJwJ continues to contribute to the
local pool of social justice organizers. We can afford to employ a
half-time Coordinator, currently Jon Weissman, long-time JwJ activist and
President Emeritus, National Ass’n of Letter Carriers Branch 46.

Why give to WMJwJ? To keep building the Coalition as a solid form of
solidarity, giving Members a lot of opportunities to fulfill their
<http://www.jwj.org/pledge.html> “I’ll Be There” pledge, and growing the
larger movement for justice. To contribute staff time and resources to pass
labor law reform, expand and improve Medicare for all, change our trade and
immigration policies to protect workers and the environment, stand up to
corporate power and turn the economy around to serve people not profits.

Our 2009 budget is $33,800, of which $20,088 is payroll. We’d like to grow
the staff to full-time, a budget of $53,888 . Our fundraising strategy
includes collecting Membership Dues; seeking donations; organizing public
events; seeking Solidarity Campaign Agreements with unions; and seeking
foundation grants.

Your (tax deductible) donation now is a critical part of this fundraising
strategy, not only because of the financial value, but also because the
scale of individual donations impresses institutional donors. Please use
the form below to add your support to ours. Thank you!

In solidarity,

Founded in 1987, Jobs with Justice <http://www.jwj.org/> 's mission is to
improve working people's standard of living, fight for job security, and
protect workers' right to organize. We believe workers' rights are human
rights and to be successful, we have to be part of a larger campaign for
economic and social justice.

To that end, "J with J" has created a national coalition and a network of
local coalitions that connect labor, community, student, and faith-based
organizations and activists on workplace and community social justice
campaigns. Western Mass JwJ – founded June 5, 1993 – is now a coalition of
almost 60 organizations.

WMJwJ publishes the following mobilization emails:

[Workers' Rights] posts opportunities for you to learn about and show
solidarity with workplace and working class struggles. And these events are
opportunities for JwJ members to fulfill their pledge:

five times a year!" This is the core mission of Jobs with Justice
(www.jwj.org <http://www.jwj.org/> ), affirming that workers' rights are
human rights. To subscribe, send an email to wmjwj at wmjwj.org with a Subject

vibrant Western Mass. movement for health care justice. Nationwide, Jobs
with Justice (www.jwj.org <http://www.jwj.org/> ) has prioritized Health
Care as a basic human right. To subscribe, send an email to wmjwj at wmjwj.org
