I write to cordially invite all of you to join us for a summer celebration at Nuestras Raices farm (La Finca) on Saturday, August 23rd to the 2nd Annual PV Latin Jazz Festival. de Artes (CENA), a community collaborative project, and producers
Eduardo Suarez and Yvonne Mendez present the 2nd Annual Pioneer Valley
Latin Jazz Festival.This
year's performers encompass the spectrum of Latin Jazz ranging from
West African, Caribbean, and Andean sounds. Headlining the event is ARTURO O'FARRILL,
resident performer at the famed Birdland nightclub in New York City.
Other performers include guitarist and virtuoso Cuatro player JOSE GONZALEZ; MARKAMUSIC the
multi-national ensemble performing Latin music deeply rooted within
folkloric, popular and traditional genres of Latin America, the
Caribbean and South American Andean regions; the group CIDADE using
the sound of violin and nylon string guitar, and instruments with a
long tradition in Latin American music, playing tangos for dancing and
tangos for listening from Argentina, bossa nova from Brazil and Latin
jazz standards from Cuba and Puerto Rico, etc.; and CONJUNTO DE BOMBA,
An Afro-Puerto Rican Ensemble of local youth and adults presenting the
sacred drum/dance and diverse styles of Bomba including street Bomba. ADMISSION: $10-Adults; $ 5-children [Children 5 and under are free.]
