The Baystate Franklin Medical Center nurses have been in negotiations for
more than 10 months with a vehemently anti-union employer. Key issues
preventing a settlement include the nurses' call for a retroactive
competitive salary increase and the hospital's demand that they have the
unilateral right to cancel a nurse's shift and to discipline nurses for the
legitimate use of sick time.

Cooley Dickinson Hospital Picket

Monday, August 11 commences at 4 p.m.

30 Locust St. (Rt. 9), Northampton, MA

The Cooley Dickinson Hospital nurses have been negotiating for more than six
months, with talks stalling over a number of key issues, including: the
nurses' call for a competitive salary increase to allow them to recruit and
retain nurses to provide safe care; Management is resolute in the removal of
language from the nurses contract that protects the union status of shift
charge nurses and the removal of Veterans Day as a holiday.
