Dear members of Organizations and college communities,

My name is Anum, and I am the senator of the Asian Students Association
on campus. As most of you may or may not know, April is the Asian/Asian
American Awareness month and lots of people are putting hard work into
making it eventful, educational and most of all successful :' ).

One of our main events for the month is "Intersections: Asian
Political Symposium" and the format and content of the event is
written below.

Friday, April 18, 2008
Location: Cleveland L2
4:30-6pm Professor panel
6-7pm Keynote Speaker: Vijay Prashad
7-8pm Alumnae panel/networking with dinner.

You can come and engage in a discussion concerning Asian and Asian
American issues in the academia, in the work place and in America.

* Discuss the exoticism of Asian women, Asian American stereotypes, and
transnational identities with a PANEL OF PROFESSORS
* Hear from a KEYNOTE SPEAKER, renowned scholar Vijay Prashad
* Network with a PANEL OF ALUMNAE over dinner

I invite and urge all of you to come and contribute to the event and
enlighten yourselves about the many questions related to Asian/Asian
American communities and beyond, that are still unanswered.

I would be more than happy to provide further details and please do
spread the word.

Anum Shahid
