Free, public screening of Spike Lee's "When the Levees Broke" at Amherst Cinema this weekend (Oct. 27 & 28)
Part 1 on Saturday 11:00 a.m., Part 2 on Sunday 11:00 a.m.
There are some really wonderful related events (a beautiful short film preceding Part 1, a beautiful reading by poet Nikky Finney preceding Part 2, a free lunch, performance by the young poets of Project 2050 and community conversation following Part 2.
Everything's free, but folks should call to reserve tickets--all info's on the flyer. Also, everyone's welcome, but the film is about Hurricane Katrina and thus includes images of destruction, injury and death, so people should use their judgement, especially if they want to bring kids.
Thanks a million,
Lisa Henderson
