Professor Juan Giusti will share his experience as the head of an
internationally known effort: Centro de Acción Urbana, Comunitaria y
Empresarial (CAUCE), a center that engages faculty, students and the community
to work together on urban revitalization projects.

Scholar-activist, lawyer and historian , Dr Juan Giusti will be in Holyoke on
Friday April 13 to share his experience as the head of the internationally
known effort, The Center for Urban Action. The Center uses the talents of
faculty, undergraduate and graduate students to revitalize impoverished
sections of the San Juan, metropolitan area, working with communities to
identify and act to solve critical problems such as illiteracy, homelessness,
gentrification and crime.  All are invited to participate in this Charla with
Professor Giusti will share on the community-based model he uses in his center.
Sponsored by: HPN (Holyoke Planning Networks), and PRSS, with a generous
HUD-COPC grant.



El Erudito-activista, abogado y historiador Dr. Juan Giusti visitará Holyoke el
viernes, 13 de abril para compartir su experiencia como dirigente del
internacionalmente conocido Centro de Acción Urbana, Comunitaria y Empresarial
. El centro utiliza los talentos de la facultad, de los estudiantes de
licenciatura y graduados para revitalizar los sectores empobrecidos del área
metropolitana del San Juan, trabajando con las comunidades para identificar y
para solucionar problemas críticos tales como analfabetismo, falta de vivienda,
desplazamiento y crimen. Todos están invitados a participar en la Charla del
profesor Giusti en la cual compartirá su conocimiento sobre el modelo comunal
que utiliza en CAUCE .. Auspiciado: HPN (La Red del Planificación de Holyoke)
