As part of a national tour, Sara Flounders, Co-Director of the International
Action Center, will be speaking on "Lessons from Lebanon 2006" in

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD BY FORWARDING THIS EMAIL WIDELY
Ms. Flounders was a member of the Delegation from the "Campaign for
Accountability on U.S./Israeli War Crimes in Lebanon and Palestine," that
traveled to Lebanon immediately after the Israeli bombing ended. She is an
editor and co-author of five books dealing with the U.S. role in the Middle
East and participated in two delegations to Palestine during the 2nd
Intifada. Flounders also traveled to Iraq several times during the years of
U.S. sanctions.
BACKGROUND ON THE CAMPAIGN & DELEGATION:
Last month, a fact-finding and solidarity delegation organized by Ramsey
Clark and the Campaign for Accountability visited Lebanon following the
August 30th inaugural session of the Campaign. That meeting, held at the UN
Church Center in NYC, drew more than 250 people for a program which included
eyewitness and expert testimony, video, and written evidence. For an initial
report and to download some materials from the August 30 meeting, access
<http://peoplejudgebush.org/>.
Shortly after their arrival in Lebanon, the delegation viewed some of the
areas hardest hit by Israeli attacks and met with Lebanese political leaders
and community organizers. Delegation members also filed daily written
reports, as well as photos and audio interviews (see the Eyewitness Lebanon
blog at http://eyewitnesslebanon.blogspot.com).
CAMPAIGN IS PLANNING OTHER EVENTS:
With evidence gathered by the delegation -- plus materials assembled during
the initial Aug. 30 Campaign for Accountability forum -- organizers plan to
assist in arranging meetings, teach-ins, and forums across the U.S. Your
help is needed: please contact us if you are interested in organizing a
meeting on your campus or in your city or town. For more information,
