hey everyone,

this is marc from umass. the coalition of immokalee workers and the
student/farmworker alliance have called for local actions/events to be held in
conjunction with the 2006 "mcdonalds truth tour."

(for more info see:
http://www.ciw-online.org/real_rights_tour.html
http://www.ciw-online.org/news.html
http://www.sfalliance.org/action.html )

i am currenty trying to set up film screenings/discussions on the history and
current struggle of the CIW at each of the 5 campuses as well as possibly
holyoke community college to take place between march 27-29 and april 3-6.

we're trying to show a 15-minute emmy-nominated segment on the CIW from the PBS
program "NOW" (http://www.pbs.org/now/thisweek/index_052705.html) as well as a
50-minute documentary on the CIW produced by the
Austin Independent Media Center
(http://www.austin.indymedia.org/films/films.html), along with Q&A and
discussion to spread awareness about what's going on.

If you are at any of the local colleges and would like to help with setting up
an event, reserving a room with a/v equipment, and helping with outreach please
get in touch with me ASAP.

thanks!

-marc
