Community Outreach Co-Coordinator

A coalition of Holyoke community-based organizations and local 
colleges seek a Community Outreach  Co-Coordinator for its Community 
Partnership  Center Projects (COPC).   This person will 
be responsible for facilitating the internal communication and 
collaboration between the five project committees, and for conducting 
outreach activities to the broader Holyoke community to increase 
participation in the COPC projects.  The Co-Coordinator will work 
closely with the Administrative Co-Coordinator and will be advised by 
a committee of COPC participants.

The core organizations and local colleges involved in the COPC 
projects include: Holyoke Planning Network, Enlace de Familias de 
Holyoke, Community Education Project, Inc. Massachusetts Fair 
Housing, Nuestras Raices, Nueva Esperanza, Inc., UMass Amherst, 
Holyoke Community College, Amherst, Hampshire, and Mount Holyoke 
Colleges.

Job Description

Responsible for the overall external CBO communication and internal 
programmatic communication between committees and projects:
Attend all meetings of Steering Committee, Coordinating Committee and 
Advisory Board;
Review programmatic decisions made by Steering and Advisory Board to 
secure consistency and follow through for implementation;
Track coordination of COPC events to prevent scheduling conflicts, 
and foster collaborations;
Conduct outreach to community-based organizations and residents of 
Holyoke to increase participation in COPC projects and in the 
Advisory Board;
Coordinate Community gatherings and breakfast meetings;
Follow up with individuals within larger COPC network who have 
concerns and ideas about COPC;
Provide direction and coordination for web site;
Assist with monitoring and evaluation of projects' impact;
Work with the Capacity Building Committee to seek additional funding.


Salary:
This is a part-time, hourly-based paid position, at $25/hr for 
20 hours minimum per week. No benefits. The position is available 
upon funding approval. Projected for 40 weeks starting July-August, 
2006.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree, or demonstrated equivalent experience with project 
management, program coordination, and organizational development. 
Proficient in oral and written Bilingual communications, Spanish and 
English, with strong roots in the Latino culture. Demonstrated 
experience and knowledge of non-profit community development, human 
and social services, and educational organizations, coalitions and 
networks of Holyoke. Competency with articulating collaborations 
amongst organizations and individuals. Knowledgeable and passionate 
about addressing the social and economic issues impacting low and 
middle income residents of Holyoke.
