Youth Leadership in the Arts Presents:
A Premiere Screening of Our Year in Reflection

Youth Leadership in the Arts, is ready to share their work with the public.
We will be sharing our videos, pictures and hosting a potluck on Wednesday
June 14th 2006 at 6:30 pm. These videos present issues such as racism and
stereotypes in the media and dynamics within schools from a youth
perspective. We will also be screening several works in progress about
immigration, mural art and our networking events with a slide show too! This
screening will be held at the local cable access station, ACTV in Amherst.

"YLA videos are powerful and moving, if you come, you will be amazed at what
we do," says peer leader Briana Figarella, 12 of YLA.

The plan for the evening is that people will arrive at 6:30 and have about
half an hour to eat and talk. Afterwards we will have an introduction by a
YLA members who will share our goal of building community through the youth.
After, we will be showing video pieces made by YLA group members this year.
There will also be a slide show showing pictures of YLA's fundraisers and
events this year. All are welcomes and food and drink for our potluck dinner
would be greatly appreciated.

Youth Leadership in the Arts is a media arts and activism program based at
Casa Latina in Northampton, MA. YLA emphasizes how a diverse group of young
people can work together to improve their everyday lives and their
communites through projects that endorse and strengthen the grassroots
leadership skills of young people.
