Tom Juravich got his start as a performer singing for workers and their
unions on picket lines, at rallies, and in meeting halls. Now, twenty-five
years since the release of his album Rising Again, he is one of the leading
singer/songwriters whose music remains firmly rooted in the labor movement.
His CDs A World to Win and Out of Darkness were released by Flying Fish/
Rounder Records. Juravich is a Professor of Labor Studies and the Director
the UMass Labor Center. The author of several books, he will be sharing a
set of new songs based on his new book, Bread Without Roses, a series of
workplace ethnographies in Massachusetts. Active in the Massachusetts
Society of Professors (MTA/NEA), Juravich was a founding member of the
American Federation of Musicians Local 1000.

Teresa Healy is a Canadian singer-songwriter who has been active in social
movements all her life. She has brought her music to the peace movement,
anti-free trade work, and labor events in various parts of North America.
Together with story-teller Ruth Stewart-Verger, she produced a CD, She
Pushed from Behind, of stories and songs about the contradictions and
contributions of first-wave feminism. Peace activists around the world have
played her song "All Souls' Day" available at www.teresahealy.ca. Teresa is
about to release a new song in solidarity with the people of Iraq and all
those who work for a world without war. "A Song for Peace" features Tom
Juravich on vocals and guitars. Healy is a Senior Researcher at the
Canadian Labour Congress and a member of AFM Local 1000.
