[Antiracism] Next Anti-Racism Meeting

Greetings Friends-

The next Anti-racism Meeting will be held Sunday, October 2, 12-4:00 
pm at the Center for Contemplative Mind at 199 Main Street, 
Northampton.

We will keep working to provide more notice about future meetings. 
Please be patient as we find the best way to divide up the 
administrative tasks.

In August and September people suggested having our meetings last 
more then two hours as it has been difficult to make decisions in 
two-hour meetings.  Weekends were also suggested as a time when 
longer meetings could be held.  However, recently individuals have 
expressed that they are not able to make weekend meetings.  We'll 
keep discussing meeting times and locations for future meetings.

At the last meeting in September we decided to move forward with the 
proposal made by Enoch Page to establish a leadership institute for 
training in whiteness and white privilege analysis.  One agenda item 
for the meeting on Sunday is to consider next steps in advancing this 
proposal.

This training activity is complimentary and supportive to action 
projects like the anti-racism walk proposed by Ruth Trujillo and 
others.  On Sunday and in future meetings we will discuss these ideas 
for the education and action work.

Please bring something to share for a light brunch we will have 
together.  (bagels, juice, fruit, some sort of protein, whatever you 
like).  You will also need to bring your own coffee or tea as we will 
be in a reserved room and not in someone's home for this meeting.
