Greetings fellow friends in The Struggle,

RE: JUNE 2ND, NEXT STEPS MEETING

We would like to thank you for your patience and for all who have continued to
share their thoughts about the summit and about ways to move forward. Those of
us who are members of the Steering Committee organizing a next steps meeting
thought we would be ready to do so by June 2, but it is clear that we have more
listening and more evaluating to do before we proceed.

The summit raised a good amount of questions and feelings for community members
that still need to be processed and heard. While many of us were at the summit,
we also recognize that there were a lot of voices in our community that were not
heard.

We want to walk gently at this time and make enough room for everyone to
respond, and allow enough time for everyone to come to the table before we call
a large gathering. Those of us who have been given the responsibility to
facilitate the transition from the summit to next steps would like to honor our
word and allow the process to reflect the voices and leadership of those who are
committed to dismantling racism in our valley.

At the same time, we very much hope to support the momentum coming off the
summit and invite all of you to share your ideas and leadership with the
community.

Please stay tuned for updates and announcements about our next meeting, which
will be scheduled in the weeks to come. Feel free to contact Mary Bombardier
(413) 559 5395, if you have any questions or feedback about the summit, or email
Zawadi at zanSS at hampshire.edu.

Peace and Blessings to you all!

Sincerely,
