Please see ALL Application Packet materials attached, for "The Struggle
Continues" Dismantling Racism in the Valley, Organzing Summit - April 30th.

Feel free to make copies to distribute to other interested parties, and return
completed forms by April 15th.  There are limited spaces, but we'd like to reach
out to a diverse group of people, so please help us by distributing flyers and
application forms to others in your community, campus, school, or organization.

Dismantling Racism in the Valley: Organizing Summit
April 30, 2005



Greetings Friends!

Thank you for your interest in The Struggle Continues, Dismantling Racism in the
Valley: Organizing Summit, to be held on April 30, 2005 at Open Square in Holyoke.

Enclosed is:
1.	an explanation of the Summit’s mission, goals and background;
2.	an application form (see below for more information);
3.	a brief outline of the program; and
4.	several flyers for you to post and distribute (please try to do this soon as
it will help us with outreach)
Please note that the list of co-sponsors is growing and will be regularly
updated.  For a current list, please visit: www.WesternMassAFSC.org.

About the application form and process:

Please review the application form carefully.  Note that we must have your
application by April 15, 2005.  

Please also note that we will only be able to accept 200 registrations and will
do our best to make sure that those in attendance on April 30 represent our
diverse valley with regard to race, class, age, geographical location, work,
interest, skill, experience and organizational affiliation.  We will mail
responses by Tuesday, April 19, 2005.

We will register 60% People of Color and 40% white people and try to achieve a
good balance with regard to the additional the criteria noted above.  An
application committee comprised of summit organizers from three counties will
review the applications.

Help us reach out!
As you post the flyers and/or hand them to friends and colleagues, please make
sure that interested folks call or email soon so that they can receive a
registration/application form in time to make the deadline.
