As some of you may know, about 110 Hampshire students and a handful of
alumni sat in the administrative hallway on the first floor of Cole
yesterday (Monday 5/3) demanding a re-investment in independent learning
here at Hampshire College. A half a dozen students then proceeded to enter
the Administrative Committee (ADCOM) meeting which was being held in the
President's Office, informing all of the assembled Deans of the College of
 our concerns.

This protest was initiated only out of love for Hampshire College and
for the dream of self-taught education Hampshire promises. The
Re-Radicalization movement is not an effort to specially restore the
previous Division I plan. The Re-Radicalization movement IS an effort to
re-enshrine independent learning in the Hampshire curriculum, while
simultaneously re-empowering students, staff and faculty to participate in
the decision making processes which will determine the fate of this
institution. More information on the re-radicalization movement can be found
 at http://www.vividly.net/radical.

In response to the sit-in and the meeting interruption, President Prince
promised an all community meeting to address these issues in the next few
weeks. Stay tuned to our website for more information and/or join our email list
by sending us your email address. Email radicalhamsphire@yahoo.com.
